We're approaching the end of the year and I want to provide an update on Moodle 4.0. We're progressing well and are working through the final changes!
Current status
- The majority of the big UX changes have been integrated
- There are a few key issues landing in the next week or so that will still have a big impact on the 4.0 experience:
- With these landed we will allow some time to review and apply polish
Important dates
The above means that we are now working towards the following timeline:
- QA cycle start mid to late January 2022
- QA cycle finish end of February
- Moodle 4.0 release in March 2022
Moodle support timeframes
Following on from these dates we will extend the security support for Moodle 3.11 by 6 months to provide additional overlap with the Moodle 4.0 release allowing more time to migrate sites. We will also shift the Moodle 4.1 release date to November 2022.
